But if you ask me, London is also the best spot to bring your kids, especially if they range in age. Here's why I'll always believe London is a terrific destination for children of any age. Children under 11 travel for free when accompanied by an adult, and discounts are available for older kids. THE DEADLINE: Essays, by Jill LeporeIn 1636, at the height of the Dutch economic hysteria known as Tulipomania, John Harvard helped found the first college of the American colonies. It’s a good thing I do not have Jill Lepore’s job. The phrase “historical framework” is insufficient when it comes to Lepore, who also provides the picture and the glass. Through these figures Lepore covers American consumerism, literary biography, journalism, intellectual property law and other cultural curiosities. But it’s her inclinations toward misfits and old narratives we have taken for granted that make “The Deadline” glow.

New Jersey has sued to block New York City's congestion price law using environmental review. The environmental review process has “metastasized well beyond what anyone intended it to be,” Dourado said. “To me, it’s clearly dysfunctional.”Reform effortsThe need to reform the environmental review process has become a bipartisan issue in recent years. Some environmental groups believe these reforms are needed to advance clean energy progress and other goals. While the Environmental Defense Fund supports the Biden administration’s reforms to NEPA, it’s against a draconian rollback of environmental review, he said.

In addition to the subject’s fascinating life — among much else, she was Virginia Woolf’s muse and longtime lover — I always enjoy books about that era. What’s the most interesting thing you learned from a book recently? I recently finished a book called “1215: The Year of Magna Carta,” by Danny Danziger and John Gillingham. Our political system and government. You’ll find more recent examples of the genre — especially those by David Baldacci and Daniel Silva — on my shelves, too.

George Mason University funded a series of plush trips for Supreme Court justices in recent years. Per The Times, the law school sent justices on trips to European tourist spots as part of teaching programs. Gorsuch was asked to help pick which Italian city would host his teaching trip. The law school dean, Ken Randall, said students had their time there "undoubtedly enhanced by the justices teaching or visiting or speaking with students." Insider sought further comment from the law school and the court.
LONDON, April 6 (Reuters) - A rare 17th-century manuscript, which was key to the restoration of the British monarchy under King Charles II a decade after the execution of his father, will be auctioned next month, coinciding with the coronation of his current namesake. One of two surviving copies is to go under the hammer in May at London auction house Sotheby's, a couple of days before the current monarch King Charles III is crowned at London's Westminster Abbey. "It is through this declaration that in 1660 the monarchy was re-established and the terms by which they would rule agreed, which still apply today, 350 years later as Charles III ascends the throne." Sotheby's said five copies of the declaration were made, with the only other surviving one kept in the parliamentary archives. It may have been drawn up under England's King John, but these days it belongs to David M. Rubenstein. To learn how Rubenstein amassed those kind of resources, look no further than his new book, “How To Invest: Masters on the Craft." At that time, there was not a whole lot of investing going on, with his father working a blue-collar existence for the Post Office, living paycheck-to-paycheck. Nevertheless, Rubenstein seems to have done alright, with a net worth currently estimated by Forbes at $3.2 billion. RUBENSTEIN'S ADVICE TO INVESTORS BIG AND SMALLWhen it comes to philanthropy, Rubenstein takes a surprisingly hands-on approach – no foundation, no staff, just him.
